Our neighbors from Mexico have had a very important part in settling America and along with bringing in their customs so came their festivals. September 16th independence day for those in Mexico a festival held in that honor is normally held all over America. A very large Independence Day Festival is held every year at Warner Park on September 15th and 16th. Warner park is located in Madison, Wisconsin. This Festival shows how many people gather to help celebrate the heritage of one culture.

Every year the people of New Orleans hold their annual festival with parades, good foods, and entertainment. The Tuesday before Ash Wednesday is called Fat Tuesday and everyone eats a lot of fattening foods. The French in New Orleans always loved their parties and when the Spanish took over they began doing the Mardi Gras, a festival where you wear a mask. The Day of Epiphan for Christians happens 12 days after Christmas. The King Cake tradition, requires that you bake a cake and put a little figurine of a baby (christ child), The person who eats that piece is suppose to host next years festival. January 6 is the Twelfth Night after Christmas and the start of the Mardi Gras in New Orleans and the baking of the King Cake. Many Irish immigrates celebrate the St Patrick's Day Festival. Irish descendants in United States put on a noiser and bigger St Patrick's Day celebration than the people in Ireland. Green is one of the colors of Ireland so they use Green for a lot of their decorations and even serve green beer on that day!
