That's the norm for TV sites, of course, but Discovery.com makes its mark with interactive storytelling delving into exploration, science, and beyond. Elucidating, but entertaining, too.

If you're looking for something different, with original material -- and lots of it -- then head to PBS Online. As you might expect, it's not your typical spot for promoting TV shows. At PBS Online, the various sites, like those for "In Search of the Oregon Trail" and "Thomas Jefferson," offer materials for education and entertainment -- interview transcripts, quizzes, and guides for teachers and students. Yes, you can actually learn something from a TV-related Web site.
